Rhodes is one of the top tourist destinations in Europe and is the largest island and the capital of the Dodecanese islands of Greece .

Rhodes gives travelers a unique opportunity to explore ancient temple ruins and then chill out on a beautiful sandy beach like Lindos beaches, Kiotari beach etc., while it offers a variety of attractions and sightseeing.

Guests of the island can literally do a different thing every day during their stay.

Dear Villa Evangelia guest, here are the 6 best-recommended places you can visit on Rhodes island during your stay, according to our opinion!

  1. Visit Rhodes city and walk around the Medieval old town where you can find the Palace of The Grand Masters. Occupiers over the centuries have left their stamp on the Medieval Town of Rhodes, which dates back hundreds of years before the birth of Christ. The street of the Knights which leads to the Palace and a 4 km (2.5 miles) long wall along with the Archaeological Museum, is considered a very beautiful example of Gothic architecture.  By foot is the best way to explore these gems. Rhodes city is 48km from Lindos.

  1. Explore Lindos one of the 3 ancient capitals of the island (along with Ialysos and Kameiros). Walk around the small streets and the white houses. It is the most popular tourist destination because of its ancient Akropolis and great beaches. Access to Akropolis is by a steep hike up the footpath, but worth the trip. Once at the top, you will find the well-preserved Acropolis enclosed by battlements, 20 white Hellenistic columns, remains of the temple of Athena Lindia, and a breathtaking view of the magnificent Saint Pauls bay and the village.

  1. Visit Prasonisi in the most south part of the island. Prasonisi is a small islet that during low tide becomes a peninsula attached to the southern tip of Rhodes. It is the top destination of the island for wind and kite surfers and everyone can start windsurfing or kite lessons there. Prasonisi is often very windy on the west side, while sheltered on the east. Consequently, experienced windsurfers make use of the windy conditions on the western side, while rather inexperienced windsurfers and sunbathers enjoy the eastern side.

  1. Visit Kalithea springs. Kallithea Springs are located at the bay of Kallithea, 41km from Lindos. Known since antiquity for their therapeutic properties the renovated, majestic premises of Kallithea Springs are welcoming once again hundreds of visitors per day, being one of the most popular attractions on the island of Rhodes.

  1. Visit Seven Springs located 28km from Lindos. Seven Springs offers a cool, magical landscape, even in the heat of high summer since water flows out of the springs all year round, which forming a small lake. You get to the lake by walking through a narrow 186m-long tunnel. The area of Seven Springs and the nearby forests are suitable for walking.

  1. Visit the small villages of Lachania, Vati, Monolithos, Profilia and Embona. You can taste great food at local tavernas and traditional and picturesque settlements. All of them keep the local color and tradition.

Enjoy your stay in Villa Evangelia and our beautiful island!!
